Privacy

The short version: we keep what the game needs to run, we do not sell any of it, and this website does not track you.

When you play

Joining a Minecraft server sends it your Minecraft username, your account's unique ID and your IP address. From that, the network keeps:

  • Your username and account ID, with when you joined, which server you played on and for how long, and which address you typed to get in. We use it to run the game, deliver purchases, count players and understand what keeps people playing. IP addresses are not stored in this record.
  • Server logs, which include your IP address, the commands you ran and what you said in chat. Every Minecraft server keeps these; we use them for security, moderation and fixing problems.
  • Your game data: inventory, balance, town, ranks, Gems, cosmetics, punishments. That is the game.
  • Chat on Survival is relayed to our Discord and visible to anyone there, under your Minecraft name.

This website

  • No advertising and no tracking cookies. Cloudflare's cookieless Web Analytics counts page views; it sets nothing in your browser.
  • The site is delivered through Cloudflare, which keeps the usual connection logs for security.
  • The "players online" number may be fetched from a public server-status service when our own feed is unavailable; that service sees the request from your browser, as any website's resources do. Fonts on this site are served from it; the store page loads its font from Google Fonts.
  • The store page remembers your username and basket in your own browser (local storage) so you do not have to type them again. Clear your browser's site data to remove them.
  • Player avatars on the store and this site are drawn from a public skin service by Minecraft username.

The store

  • Purchases are made on Tebex, the merchant of record, under Tebex's privacy policy. Your card or PayPal details go to Tebex and its payment processors; we never see them.
  • Tebex tells us the Minecraft username the purchase is for, what was bought, the amount, and the payment's ID and status, so we can deliver it in game and handle refunds or disputes.
  • A purchase is announced in game and in the Discord by Minecraft username. The store's supporters board shows the names of recent and top supporters, never amounts. Email us to be left off it.
  • If you buy a gift, the friend's username is looked up through a public Minecraft-profile service to find their account ID.

The Discord

Linking your Discord account in game stores your Discord ID next to your Minecraft account so we can give you roles. Discord's own privacy policy covers everything you do there. Staff applications made in the Discord are kept, with their answers, for the people reviewing them.

Under 18

Sturdy is an all-ages Minecraft server and collects nothing beyond what the game and the store need. If you are under 18, you need a parent or guardian's permission before buying anything. A parent who wants a child's data removed can email us.

How long, and where

  • Game data stays as long as your account exists on the network, so your town and your purchases are there when you come back.
  • Backups are taken nightly and mirrored to an off-site location; database copies in the backups are encrypted.
  • Punishment records are kept so that a ban means something.
  • Servers are hosted in the United States.

Your choices

Email [email protected] from the address you use with us, with your Minecraft username, to ask what we hold about you, to have your name left off the public boards, or to have your data deleted. Deleting means losing your town, balance and purchases on the network; a ban record stays. We will answer within a reasonable time, and we never sell or share your data with anyone except the services named above.

We will update this page when something changes and note the date at the top.
