Sturdy MC Server IP and How to Join (Java 26.2)

The steps

Open Minecraft: Java Edition

Any version from 1.13 to 26.3 can connect. The servers run 26.2, so that version gets every feature as intended.

Multiplayer → Add Server

Server address play.sturdymc.com, no port. Name it whatever you like.

Join

You arrive in the hub. Right-click the compass to pick a server, or type /servers.

Play Survival

It is the open server today. Your first stop is spawn; a free plot in StarterVille is waiting if you want one, or strike out on your own. The Survival guide covers the first hour.

The hub

Every connection to play.sturdymc.com lands in the hub, the network's front room. It is where you pick a server and where network-wide things are delivered. A few commands work there:

/serversopen the server selector (the same as right-clicking the compass)

/server survivalgo straight to a server by name: survival, hub; heist and mobwars once they open

Server IP addresses

The Sturdy MC server IP is play.sturdymc.com (Java Edition, no port). It lands you in the hub. Survival's own address is survival.sturdymc.com; towny.sturdymc.com also works.

You can skip the hub and join a server directly by its own address. They all go through the same network, so it is the same account and the same Gems either way.

A server that is not open yet sends you to the hub instead, with a note saying so. The opening dates go in the Discord first.

Versions and Bedrock

Java Edition only. Bedrock Edition (consoles, phones, Windows 10/11 "Minecraft for Windows") cannot connect, and there is no plan to change that.
26.2 is the server version. 26.2 and 26.3 show everything as intended. Older clients back to 1.13 are let in, but newer blocks and the text effects may not look right there.
No mods needed. Vanilla works. Client-side mods that give an advantage (x-ray, auto-clickers, hacked clients) are against the rules and are detected.

The resource pack

Survival uses a small resource pack for its text effects (rank tags and name effects). The server asks you to accept it when you join Survival, and it is required: declining it sends you back out. It downloads once, takes a few seconds, and changes nothing about blocks or items.

If the download fails: in Multiplayer, select the server, press Edit, set Server Resource Packs to Enabled (or Prompt), press Done and rejoin. On a slow connection, give it a few more seconds before giving up.

If it will not connect

What you see	What it means
"Outdated client" / "Outdated server"	Your version is outside 1.13 to 26.3. In the launcher, pick Latest release (or 26.2) and try again.
"Can't connect to server" / "Unknown host"	Check the address: `play.sturdymc.com`, nothing else, no port. If the status pill at the top of this page says we are offline, we are restarting: Survival restarts daily at 3 am Pacific (10:00 UTC) for about a minute.
"Failed to verify username"	Your launcher's session has expired. Sign out of the launcher and back in.
Kicked on joining Survival	Almost always the resource pack: see above.
"You are banned"	Bans are network-wide. Appeal by DM to a Moderator on the Discord (rules).
